Default Bottom Mount Freezer frozen refrigerator won't is warm
Brand: Amana
Age: 1 - 4 years

I am not sure what the brand is. I know this is bad. I had the problem the last two days I am at work it is at home. It is bottom mount freezer I think it is Amana or hotpoint.

The freezer was freezing fine, there was some frost on the back when I touched the back you could feel a sheet of ice behind it, the fridge gradually went from cool to warm.

Had to throw out all the groceries I bought the day before Thanksgiving. Anyway I have cleaned out the entire fridge and freezer and unplugged hopefully the sheet of ice will melt.

We have a Sears part store near. If I knew what the problem is. It would be a lot cheaper to fix it that way. HELP

With all the ice, your defrost system is defective. Some units have defrost timer, defrost heater and defrost thermostat. Here's how to check. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com

In most of the new units they now have the evaporative defrost control. It senses when to defrost based on how many times and for how long the door is opened. It's more energy efficient but there does seem to be lots of problems with the board.

Post your model number for that info.
