We had to replace the water actuator which we were able to do; however now putting it back together we can get the water tube to attach. Any suggestions or hints?

I'm in the process of a similar act (water tube cracked, is leaking). I don't have my replacement line yet, but after observing how I pulled the tube out (I have a GE TFX30PPDAWW) I noticed a bushing was in the solenoid. I pulled the bushing out carefully, looks like when I get my new tube I should slide the bushing down the tube, slide the tube into the solenoid, then slide the bushing up the tube and into the solenoid.

Send me a PM or e-mail if you want to know how I did after I get my parts!

OK, I just did this ! what a pain.
Problem is tube loops tightly down into the dispenser area and no knuckle room, right.? Ok so you unplugged the fridge ?
Unscrew the 6 itty bitty #1 phillips screws that hold in the dispenser power board,( the one with the transformer on it)
Disconnect the white electrical connector on the left and gently remove the board leaving the two led connectors and the four micro switch wires attached.
Tape the board so it won't scratch the front of your fridge and let it down on its wires. now you have a hole to reach into the compartment that holds the loop of plastic tubing.
Use a small punch or screwdriver to poke up through from the dispenser area and insert it into the tube.
Then guide the tube into the hole as you press down from above. Remember not to slip off and bang the power board, you could rip out the wires.
When finished, you should see an eighth to a quarter of an inch of the white tube showing down inside the dispenser area.
Lastly re install the power board and the Trim
(hint: Start with the clear plastic cover and the top center screw, every thing will go more smoothly)
Also don't plug in the fridge until the power board and clear shield are in place, this board is NOT low voltage!!!
