The ice maker works fine - it makes ice and there is no ice build up in the bin. When we press the ice cube button on the door the motor does engage. Actually, if we open the freezer door and press the button to simulate the door being closed ... then press the ice cube button - the auger will rotate, ice will dispense from the ice bin and shoot out. However, if the door is closed and we try the ice cube button - the ice cubes jam up in the chute. It seems that the plastic flap/door that opens to allow the ice cubes to dispense into a glass doesn't work. We have another side by side in our basement (GE) and when we check the operation of the ice dispenser the ice chute flap/door opens when the ice cube button is pressed. From all the diagrams provided I can't tell exactly what part needs to be ordered. |
