Default Amana Side by side refrigerator
Brand: Amana
Model Number: SRD25S5W
Age: More than 10 years

The ice maker in my refrigerator does not know when to stop filling with water. When it fill's, it seems to over-fill the ice tray and leak out. Is there some type of water shut off that can be adjusted, or a float that needs to be cleaned, or will I need to replace the ice maker?

It is likely the fill valve at the back of the fridge or poor water pressure at the valve.

To check the water pressure shut the water off to the fridge and disconnect the water line at the fridge.

While holding the line in a bucket have someone turn the water on and observe the flow.

If the flow is low the shut off valve will have to be replaced on the line.

If the flow is good the fill valve on the fridge will have to be replaced.

Here is a link to your fridge model SRD25S5W.

Is the "fill valve" called the Ice Maker Water Inlet Valve? I do have good water pressure because the line is clear and we are on city water. I also noticed that the water fills the tray quickly.

Yes it could be call the ice maker inlet valve.

The ice maker only takes about 7 seconds to fill.
