Freezer cycling off and on for day or two - then went off and defrosted. Mfg. No. P60117-1W Serial No. 838405563 8.3 (R12 OZ) 3.5 (amps) 115 (v) 60 (Hz) No previous troubles. Grateful for any help.

Was there a short power outage while the freezer was running?

If there was then try restating the freezer.

It takes 20 minutes for the system to equalize.

If the same thing happens then it could be your start relay gone bad or it may be the compressor.
