My Sxs Fridge Has A Problem. The Freezer Is Working Great But The Fridge Will Not Cool Off. Noticed There Was No Air Coming From The Opening At The Top Of The Freezer/fridge Area, So We Propped It Open To See What Effect This Would Have. Still The Fridge Is Not Cool (50 Deg). I Am New To This Forum So I'm Hoping I'm Doing This Right.

P.s. We Just Replaced The Motherboard Because The Repair Guy Said The Fan Was Not Working. Now The Fan Is Working. But This Problem Exists.

Thanks For Your Reply.

Check to see if there is ice build up on the coils under the evaporator fan in the freezer. When it's iced up it restricts the air flow to the fridge. It will eventually affect the freezer. If it's iced up , need to check defrost system.

Just By Pushing On The Back Inside Wall Of The Freezer, I Can Feel"crunch" And The Freezer Does Seem To Be Losing Temp. I Am Looking Into The Defrost System. Thanks For The Info.

Ok I've Replaced The Defrost Heater And Thermostat. No Change. When You Prop The Airflow Door Open The Freezer Temp Rises To Close To 40 And The Fridge Drops To Maybe 50. With The Door Closed The Freezer Goes Back Down Around 15 And The Fridge Around 60. I Am Running Out Of Ideas Here And My Repair Guy Is Confused. Need Help Please.

There Is A Heavy Frost On The Coils But I Don't Know How Much Frost Is Normal At Any Given Time. Also There Seems To Be Ice Building On The Walls Of The Freezer And On The Bottom Of The Icemaker (i Think This Is Where The Icemaker Is).

Could It Have Anything To Do With The Temp Sensor That Is In The "airflow/damper Area"?

The temp sensor in the damper area would be for the control of the damper. Setting the temp in the fridge should cause the damper to move to reach the desired temp.

The defrost timing is controlled by the board you have replaced. You can make it go into defrost to see if it's melting all the ice. Instructions for forcing defrost may have been included with the new board or in papers stored behind the front condenser cover.

Well, After Further Forum Research, I Think That Maybe The Frost Behind The Back Panel In The Freezer Is In Normal Ranges And The Buildup In The Freezer Is Just A Light Dusting Of Frost. I've Taken The Back Panel Off In The Freezer And It Seems Like Just Frost On The Coils, Not "ice" And Not Excessive. But I Still Have The Same Non-cooling Issue. The Repair Guy Says He's Waiting On A Call From The Manufacturer. I'm Not Really Sure He Will Hear Back From Them, Though. Any Further Ideas! I'm Ready For A New Fridge But Husband Is Holding Out For A Fix.

Hellllp!!
