Default Wondering about the installation!

Our JED8430ADB broke last week and I've found the part at considerably less that the JennAir local installer quoted for it. They want $360 and I've see it for from $187 to $220 on line. But the thing that is concerning me is the installation. The stove unit doesn't appear anchored when viewed from underneath, but it feels very firmly seated despite the clearance around the stove base. The blower can be moved slightly, but pushing from underneath the stove I get no movement whatsoever. As a result, I'm concerned that even if I can get the unit out and replace the top I'll face major risk of breakage of the ceramic top in the future if it doesn't go in smoothly. Any feedback on how the install went and whether there is a considerable risk in the install? Total commercial install quote is about $510 t0 $525.

If the cook top was installed properly when it was first install there should not be an issue with it when you replace the top.

What caused the cook top to break?

If you still have the manual for your cook top it will have the installation instruction in it.

The blower will have to be disconnected and the cook top removed.

If you don't have your manual you can find the service and installation manual at servicematter.com.

Here is a link to your cook top model JED8430ADB.
