Unhappy Whooshing noise in my GE gas oven & won't cycle up to maintain set temperature
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JGBS23DEW3WH
Age: More than 10 years

First problem, gas oven would not light. Corrected problem by replacing oven ignitor.
Now, oven lights promptly, flame looks correct and full. Oven reaches correct temperature, and then cycles down. Should ignitor remain red hot all of the time even after oven flame ignites and oven reaches set temperature?
After cycling down, oven should cycle up (flame should go to full size again). However, all it does do is make a loud, continuous whooshing noise (sounds like a loud, forceful air stream), which is not an influx of propane.
I have to shut the oven off and then within 15-20 seconds whooshing stops and oven is off.
I then have to wait for oven to completely cool down so that I may turn oven back on.
If I turn the oven on to broil, I can broil all day and experience no down cycling and therefore no whooshing noise.
This noise never happened before I changed the ignitor.
I had this stove installed and set up for liquid propane and have never had a problem until the ignitor failed.
Is there a valve, regulator, etc. that could be causing this problem?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
