Default Whirlpool RBS305PDB door will not stay closed
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: RBS305PDB
Age: More than 10 years

I have replaced the hinges and the solenoid that triggers the door latch to close, but the door still will not close all the way. It's not much fun barricading the oven door to keep it closed so that it functions properly when cooking. It doesn't look as if the hinges are adjustable. Whirlpool is as useless as tits in a bowl and responds only with form letters that tell me to seek technical help from a repair shop. NOTE: Whirlpool makes some of the most poorly constructed applicances. I have replaced my kitchen floor three times due to leaks in my Whirlpool dishwasher (soft rubber hoses burst every 1-2 years, cart rollers constantly breaking, control panel inconsistent, etc...). Their refrigerator is another story, but the oven is at the top of the list. GET KENMORE - excellent product if you research it right. Any help out there for the door that doesn't want to close on a Whirlpool oven?

First of all the model # you gave is not complete. After the number you gave there could be a 1-26 after it. It makes a huge difference. My other question is, when you close the door is the door hit the lock lever, and that is why it does not close? I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

The complete model number is RBS305PDB10. The door closes and hits the
latch like it always has. The solenoid is not being triggered to push out
the pin and stop the latch from releasing. If it were, the door would
remain closed. I replaced the solenoid and it didn't work. Thanks for your
help.
