I'll try to keep this as short as possible. Oven worked fine, I believe that a heavy pot with feet got caught on bottom element, and it stopped working. The broiler element would still work, but the bottom would get warm at best on bake and convect. I read that the element may need replaced, and I went to take out the element. It was only connected to a red wire on the right side of the element, nothing on the left side at all...should their be a wire connection there? I only pulled it a few inches to see how the red wire would disconnect, and that's when it sparked, buzzed, and then the top element only would work to a warm up, not 500 degree broil like before. Now I've really done it. I realize I should have turned off the oven from our household power panel, but I didn't, and at least I didn't get hurt, but I can't be so sure about my oven. Please help!!

There should be a wire on each side of the element.

If the element was getting warm there is a problem with the control or the wiring.

If the element was faulty it would not heat at all.

Here is a link to your oven model GBS307PDS7.
