Default Whirlpool Electric Range Problem
Model Number: RF302BXYW1
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a problem. I was changing out the baking element on my electric range when one of the wires slipped back into the insulation. Now I can't recover it. What's it going to take to find the wire?

Pull the range out and remove the back cover the wire should be visible when you do this.

You should have the range unplugged or the breaker tripped or fuses removed while doing this repair.

I located the wire and found that the female connector was broken off, so I have to replace it. Are those connectors special, due to the heat, or can I use the ones that can be found at Home Depot?

The terminals should be for high heat but you can use the ones that you can get at any hard ware store.
