Default Whirlpool cook top temp out of control
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: rcc3024gb3
Age: 5 - 10 years

My ceramic cooktop large front burner started to overheat uncontrollably but does not happen all the time. Soon after, the back - next largest burner started to do the same. Is there a temperature regulating device for each burner that can be easily replaced or is this a job for a professional. Will it require removing the seal around the countertop or is the repair done from below the counter?
thanks

The cook top will have to be remove from the counter for any repair.

Each burn has it own switch that controls the heating.

Here is a link to the parts of your cook top model rcc3024gb3.

Hi Shiela
Thank you for your response. it was not clear which part needs to be replaced when you said "switch". Can you be more specific?
Thanks

There are four switches one for each burner.

The switches you will need are for the large burners.

The one for the left front is part number PS375265.

The one for the right rear is part number PS339378.

There will be number on the switches to match.

To install the switch you will have to disconnect the power to the cook top and remove it.

Lay the top on a protected surface and remove the top to access the switches.
