Default Vent Ducting & Conversion Kit Natural Gas to LP
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: SEG 196
Age: More than 10 years

I am considering buying a 15 yr old Jenn-Air Stove/Oven SEG 196 for $220. However, since my current oven location is on an inside wall, I would need to create ducting to vent to outside the house. I could possibly vent to the roof, or more difficult--I could put the duct straight back to the basement stairway and then the pipe would turn to go outside above the basement door. I may have to hire a professional, but want to understand my options first before I invest in the stove. What do you suggest?

I could try putting the stove in another location with an outside wall, but it is a small kitchen and would be more awkward to use.

Also, I need a conversion kit (for natural gas to LP) and cannot locate it on the partselect.com website.

Here is a link to your parts breakdown
Maytag SEG196

I think your LP conversion kit may be Item 25 in the Control Panel section but I would confirm this with them.

Also here is a service manual with venting recommendations
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16010191.pdf

With venting etc. could run you a good chunk of change. Trying to add ducting inside walls can quickly become a major job as you have to get through the header. It's a pain with a 6 inch wall but a royal pain with the standard 4 inch wall, at least to do it properly, especially if it is a load bearing wall.

You must really want this stove. If my wife wanted it, even if it was in like new condition, I would look for any excuse I could find to get out of installing it on an inside wall.
