The inner glass on the upper door on my Maytag CWE550 oven has a very small crack at one of the corners. Is it safe to use the self-cleaning feature? If not, is the replacement of the glass, as one service-man told me, a very difficult and expensive job to do? Can a home-owner do it without great difficulty?

With a crack in the inner glass it is best that the self clean not be used.

Replacing the glass is not that hard of a job.

Thank you so much for your most interesting post to my question. I had really studied the diagram of the upper door and decided to bite the bullet...you were correct, it was not a rocket-scientist level job! If it had turned out to be such, I was covered with a Maytag repair site very close to my home. I appreciated your help.
