Default Touch Pad on Oven Won't work
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FEB30S5ABA
Age: 5 - 10 years

Oven heating element not working even though broil element was. Determined oven element was good by swapping broil and oven elements and now seeing broil element not work. Oven element relay on EOC board appeared to have come un-soldered so it was re-soldered in place. Meter put on oven element lead wires now indicate 240VAC when activated when before re-solder it wouldn't. Oven appeared fixed and worked for one bake cycle. Next day when attempting to use the oven, the touchpad buttons now don't work. Since both electronic boards are fairly pricey and not returnable after ordering, I would like some guidance as to which board is the likely culprit - the clock/timer EOC (which originally caused the non-heat problem) or the touch pad control and associated ribbon cable. Please advise. Thanks!

It would likely be the control that is causing the problem.

Check with your volt meter to see if you are get power to the bake element again.

The touch pad is used to set the control and if that is functioning then there is no problem with it.

Here is a link to your oven model FEB30S5ABA.

Using touch pad causes no display to occur in timer/clock unit so therefore does not activate bake light(where up/down arrows can be used to set temp) and correspondingly does not activate relay. I'm trying to decide which electronic board to replace: The clock/timer board where original problem originated (but appeared fixed for at least 1 cycle) or the touch pad panel which now does not allow the activation of any features (bake, broil, etc.) P.S. there are no fault codes indicated and the clock is working but unsettable due to touch pad buttons inoperable. Thanks for your prompt reply
