Default Too yellow flame, lpg stove
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GPF300PAWA
Age: 5 - 10 years

My stove flames are very yellow and making soot. I tried adjusting the air mix on each burner to no avail. I read somewhere that the gas pressure must be regulated correctly. Is it possible the regulator is bad? Does one usually have to adjust the regulator? Can the regulator be rebuilt? What/where is the "orifice hood"?

The regulator can not be adjusted.

Yellow flame means that there is to much oxygen.

Check your burner assembly.

Here is a link to your range model GPF300PAWA.

You should have this check by a qualified gas technician.

The Unit Has To Be Converted To Lp. This Means Higher Pressure, And Smaller Orifice Openings. Most Units Require A Kit With The Appropriate Orifices. The Regulator Is Adjustable, However This Would Mean Higher Pressure To Larger Openings. Should Have Qualified Personel Perform This.
