Default Temperature Knob Broken
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: S166
Age: More than 10 years

I took the two knobs off the front to clean the front of the oven the other day - put them both back on. It's really not that hard or confusing. Now - the knob which says "bake," "broil," etc... is fine - but the one demarcating the temperature no longer moves smoothly to any temperature - but clicks once to about 250 degrees and the oven light comes on - then clicks again to over 350 and the oven light turns off - then it clicks again close to 500 degrees.

Perhaps the dirt on the oven was making it work, however....

WHAT HAPPENED? How do I fix this?

Here is a link to your range model s166.

Check under the knob to see if anything is stuck under it.
