Question Stovetop elements won't heat
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JB450G0K2WH
Age: More than 10 years

Sparks shot out through drawer and there was a burnt smell. There was a small singed area on the back of the drawer, but could not find the "culprit. We unplugged the range, gave it a day and then plugged it back in. There is power, the broiler element in the oven works, but the bottom oven coil and coils on the stove top stay absolutely cold. When the dials are turned on the indicator light is functional, but again no heat. Any idea what might be wrong? I miss my hot water for tea...the microwave just isn't the same.

Check the wires at the terminal block where the cored is attached to the range.

Turn the breakers to the range off or pull the fuses and check the wall outlet.

If it was the outlet you should have an electrician check your wiring.

Here is a link to your range model JB450G0K2WH.
