Default Stove Top Runaway
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: unknown
Age: More than 10 years

When a particular burner on my electric range is set at a low to med. temp it eventually goes to high heat. I suspect it would be a thermostat problem,if so where is it located?

The problem that you are having is arced contact in the infinite switch.

The switch is behind the knob.

The model number to the stove is locate on the frame where the drawer closes.

With the model number we can provide a part number for a new switch.

My parts search shows that the parts for your range are no longer available.

You should contact Sears and see if they have a universal switch for your model.

Make sure that you have your model number when you call.
