Default Spark Module Location
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KGRT507BWH3
Age: More than 10 years

Burners no longer ignite automatically. Sometimes after lighting manually and turning off, the ignitors will click (small sparking). Even without clicking, touching the ignitor results in a very low level shock which repeats less than once/second.

Problem is probably the spark module (from what I have read), but I have no idea how to get to the thing. I took off the back panel which revealed everything but the spark module. It appears to be under the cooktop, but I cannot figure out how to get the cooktop off.

I found and removed 3 screws below the control panel, but nothing would budge. I'm sure there's a trick to the thing, but without knowing it, I'd rather not force something the wrong way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Forget it. I figured it out myself. Not a very well populated site. Probably just a lure to buy on partsselect. Found the same part 15% cheaper elsewhere. Would have bought here if someone had replied... Good for me. Bad for partsselect.com....

a special wrench is used to remove burner without damaging ignitor tip you the should have enough room to access it
