Default Smoothtop not powering up
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FEF364FW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello,

This oven has not been properly working since it came in the house 3 years ago.

I checked to make sure that the electrical is 240volts. Power is good.

The timer (digital display) lights up, but there is no power going to the smooth top when I turn any of the knobs.

I haven't a clue of where to begin or what could possibly be broken. Help!

Thank you!

If you have 240 volts at the wall start by following the cord in to the range and see it you have 240 volts there.

Unplug the range and take the control panel down and check the wiring to make sure it is hooked up.

There must be a wire off somewhere.

The wiring diagram should be in an envelope on the back of the range.

Here is a link to your range model FEF364FW.

Hi Sheila,

Thank you for your reply. I found out over the weekend that there is not 240 volt coming to the eletrical socket. I had power in the negative plug, but no power on the positive plug. So the oven was underpowered the whole time.

I will have to run new wiring from the fuse box the receptacle.

Thank you for replying to me. I will make sure to follow your advice after I fix the wiring in the house.

Max
