Cool Slide in smooth top cooktop replacement
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 790.46603501
Age: Less than 1 year

i have got the replacement cook top but am having trouble accessing the screws at the front of the unit where the cooktop meets the control panel there is no room to get a screw driver in this tight space.there a 4 screws there that have to be removed.does anyone have any advice.there is no repair manual or schematics that i can find.im sure there is a simple solution but i am at a complet loss.
Please help.

You will have to remove the control panel.

how would i go about removing the control panel?

There should be a screw on both end of the control panel.

Remove these screws and flip the console toward you starting from the top.

Lower the console in order to clear the under anchorage point of the under side of the control panel.

Remove the quick connections on the control.

Remove the screws which hold the inner part of the control panel in place.
