Default Self cleaning ovens
Brand: Amana
Age: 5 - 10 years

Last night I locked the oven. I had just finished cooking and locked it to keep the two toddlers from opening the oven door accidentally. After it showed that it had cooled, I reached over and unlocked it. The latch on the outside moved back into place but the oven stayed locked. What I am wanting to know is how do I fix this? I tried last night to take the oven door off and suceeded. However, I cannot seem to get the oven to understand that it is unlocked. I tried again this morning and it just blinks at me and says "locked". I do not want to purchase a new oven, I just want to fix this one. I have had it for a while, it has always worked well, until this problem. Anyone know how to repair this?

Try unplugging it and plugging it back in
If it does not clear the error, there is a good chance that a lock sensing switch is jammed. It or sometimes they are usually part of your door lock mechanism

A Model Number would be helpful
