Cool Self cleaning oven problem
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: 2023781
Age: More than 10 years

I turn the selector and temperature knobs to clean, closed and locked the oven door, hit the enter button on the clock for start and stop times. The clean lite doesn't come on and the oven doesn't heat up. The fan does turn on with the selector knob. I looked at the latch mechanism and the microswitches all seem to be working. I took ohm readings through the microswitches when the latch was locked and the microswitches are funtioning. The clock is working ok, I can't find the schematic for the range. The self cleaning worked the last time we used it. Also the oven and broiler elements work ok. Where do I look next for the problem?

Can you please verify your model number?

Is this a wall oven or a range?

Will the clock take the start and stop times.

Check the contact in the selector switch.

Default Self Cleaning oven problem.

Dear Sheila:

The model number is correct, I purchased this unit from Sears on 9/15/90, but it has a Jenn-Air sticker.

This is a range.

The clock will take start and stop times.

The selector switch is working because the fan turns on when I move the selector switch to clean.

Sorry, I took so long to answer your reply.

Ed
