Try doing this and it should work if nothing is broken.

Open the door and find the door switch ...it is a (ROD) i think... it will be sticking out and it depresses the door switch when the door closes

It will be a small plunger type (rod) that goes in and out when the door closes on it.
Look around the edge at the top and you should find it and it is safe to touch it.

1) push and hold the (rod) door switch in
2) turn on all of the (self cleaning) controls on as if you were going to clean the oven
3) keep the (rod) door switch pushed in ....
4) now turn the oven off and out of self clean mode...

this should release the latch if nothing is broken

Default Mine must be broken

Due to an unruly roommate who had no clue of the workings of an oven, I broke off the outer latch in order to open the oven and prevent the house from burning. Unfortunately, the inner latch is stuck in place. The oven will not shut all the way. I tried pressing in the rod and following the directions 3 times with no luck. I'm up in arms with a dirty oven and a cake needing baked
