Default Self cleaning lock won't let oven door close
Brand: Caloric
Age: More than 10 years

Help! The self cleaning lock has been activated when the oven door was open. I can't shut my oven door now. How do I unlock it? I've never used the self cleaning feature and the operating manual is lost.

Question TappanSelf-cleaning oven door locked, no manual, model number locked inside oven door

Old Tappan Gas Convectionaire Self-Cleaning Range, definitely >15 years old. I had no owners' manual though tried to switch on to use Self-Clean feature. Big Mistake. I did not know what I was doing and now the oven door is CLOSED in locked position. Fortunately there is no heat on, however I am unable to get ANY oven panel knob controls to work and the oven fan is constantly on--so I had to turn it off at the fuse box.
I need to use a manual, however to find one online requires a model number and apparently the model number info is displayed inside the oven door which is locked shut. I thought I might find the model number also in the right side of the burner box by lifting the top of stove, however I don't find any model number there.
