Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JBP90GV1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Please help!!!
My baking element stopped working, I touched it and a part of it fell off.
Is it safe to replace this myself or should I get a repair person, also how is it attached

You should be able to replace the element yourself.

Make sure you unplug the stove before you take the old element out.

It is held in with two screws inside the oven.

There are two wires hooked to the element.

You will see them when you pull the element out.

Unscrew the wires from the old element.

Then install the new element.

You have had a blowout bake element. These elements draw a lot of current while they are self destructing. Good idea to verify you have no welded shut controls.
Just select bake and verify the oven element will shut off when the oven reaches set temperature!
