The click you hear from the control panel is most likely the relay on it, that sounds like its at least calling for heat like it should be. This leaves you back at wanting to check that new igniter to see if you're getting power to it. The igniter's are very fragile, its possible the new igniter is broke so don't rule it out as good just because its new.
Unplug the 2 wires going to this new igniter and turn the oven on with your volt meter checking to see if the wires that come from the oven you just unplugged are getting power to them. Or, if you don't have a volt meter you can swap the broil and oven igniter's and see if the new one works in the broiler, or if the broiler one works in the oven (I'd then make sure I put the new igniter back on the oven since it gets more use than the broiler).
If no power to the oven igniter is confirmed yet you positively hear the control click, then it sounds like the oven control relay is engaging but not powering up your igniter. This could be a bad contact in that relay which is probably not a separate piece from the controller and has to be replaced as a single part. Or, it could be a bad spot in the wire going down to the igniter which is very well possible. If there's a wiring diagram somewhere on this oven still find the igniter in the diagram, then follow the lines in the diagram from the igniter back. That line represents the wires powering the igniter, everything that line runs into including the wire itself you want to check to determine where in there you are losing your power to the igniter from. |
