Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JGB902WEH2WW

I have light gray burner grates that are stained, can these be sucessfully repainted? Replacements cost well over $200. The currnt grates work fine just look ugly.

Because of the process that the grates go through when they are manufactured repainting will not likely stay.

You would have to find a high heat paint that is non-toxic as well and I don't think you could find a color match.

Here is a link to your range model JGB902WEH2WW.

john, put burner grates in a plastic freezer bag, spray with clear amnonia, seal bag, let set over nite. scrub off,it wont take all off,but will look a lot better than before. i did this to grey grates on my stove, did not look brand new,but for the 2 bucks it cost to do this, they did not look to bad. doug

If you do this be very careful because ammonia is very toxic so make sure you do this in a well ventilated area.
