Angry Replace Inner Glass on Oven door
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JES9750AAB
Age: 1 - 4 years

What is the secret to getting the door apart to replace the inner glass pane on the oven door? I have removed all of the screws but the unit will not come apart. Is there something else I have to do?

Remove the screws securing the bottom trim to the oven door.

Slide the outer oven door glass and trim toward the bottom of the oven door and remove.

Detach the right and left trim pieces for the outer door glass.

Remove the screws securing the top door handle trim to the oven door chassis.

Remove the screws securing the door handle brackets to the inner door panel.

Lift upward on the lower side of the door handle to release the side alignment screws and rotate toward the top of the oven door to release and remove.

Remove the screws securing the door handle to the door handle brackets.

Remove the screws securing the lower door glass retainer to the door baffle and remove.

Slide the inner door glass downward to release it from the upper door glass retainers and remove.

Remove the screws securing the door baffle to the door lining and remove.

Remove the insulation form the oven door.

Lift the inner glass and glass frame from the oven door.

Reverse the procedure to reassemble the oven door.

I just changed my first one last month. Removed six screws around the outer edges of the door and then had to use a flathead screwdriver to pry the outer door from the inside brackets. My range is 5 years old and I guess the heat caused the frame and brackets to stick together a little. Once I got the door apart, I had another 3-6 smaller screws to remove the inner bracket holding the glass. Someone else on this website stated it took them 30-45 minutes and it was the same for me.
