We must decide whether to replace the broken ceramic glass top or the entire range. It is a 1996 Maytag Model CRE9600CCM electric range. The range is otherwise in good shape. We recently replaced the oven heating element. How much trouble is it to replace the glass? And what is the likelyhood of causing more trouble in the process?

Any advice will be appreciated.
