Question Repair or replace?
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JTP15BDW288
Age: 5 - 10 years

Can someone advise about whether we should attempt repair or just replace our wall oven?

For several years, we have been unable to Self Clean due to an error (can't remember which # -temp exceeded..??) and alarm.

Yesterday, while baking received F5 error. This morning while baking, it didn't seem that the oven was heating properly. Then I tried to broil and got an F2 error.

We have also had a problem, where the fan runs excessively - even after oven is completely cooled.

I'm assuming we need a new electronic control at a minimum. The oven is about 8 years old. Should we just replace it?

It does appear to be the oven control that is fault.

Can you please verify your model number?

The first part of your model is good jtp15bd but there is something wrong with w288.

Default Corrected Model Number

The model number is JTP15BDW2BB. Sorry, the engraving is tough to discern.

Today I got an F3 error when attempting to heat above 350.

With the codes that your are getting it could be the clock or the sensor.

The sensor is number 253 in the body parts breakdown.

Here is a link to your model oven JTP15BDW2BB.
