That is rather poetic, AppMan. Thanks for the reply. After posting here, I went back and plugged the range in and the right pair of top burners were ok! Not sure if I missed that or something happened. So I have oven and top burners on right side of range burning. That should mean that I have power from the wall to those elements. I used my multimeter and checked continuity from the power block at the bottom of the range ( where the wall connector comes in) to the two switches controlling the left two burners. Checked red and black power wires with no apparent loss of continuity. I checked the two wires coming out of the switch going to the burner assembly - both are continuous (on both burners). I checked the switches by checking for continuity across - no continuity between red and black wires when switch was closed but as I turned the switch - I got continuity - I take this to mean that the switch is working. So here is what I think I have - power from the wall into the stove, from the stove to the oven and right bank of burners, continuity from the power intake block to the left burners. I have checked all connectors on the switches by removing and replugging them in - but still no burners on the left side. The elements from the left burners work in the right burners. Any suggestions? I am about ready to call in the repairman! |
