The past few times I have turned on my oven, there is a terrible smell--similar to a chemical smell or maybe a burning wire. I have checked the plug and looked all over and can't find anything visibly wrong. Nothing feels overly hot to the touch when in use. My oven is clean so I am sure it's not from a spill. I'm almost becoming afraid to use the oven. Any help is appreciated!!

Have you been doing any kind of oil base painting or staining inside? if so you are smelling the fumes from the oil burning off.
