My range will not ignite. I can see the igniter element glowing red hot but the gas valve will not turn on. The broiler works fine and the range top works fine also. Can you provide help and give me adice as to which component would most likely be responsible for this problem.

It seems that your have a faulty valve.

This should be serviced by a qualified gas technician.
