Default Question about replacing temperature sensor
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 5898VRV
Age: More than 10 years

No F-codes at all... however, the indicated temperature is crazy... like reaches 475 in about 2 mins! (Of course real temp is about 175) I've managed to trick it into getting hotter by setting it at 545...but doesn't stop heating--it reaches what it thinks is 520 and never reads anything higher. Anyway, I'm 98% sure it is the temperature sensor. However, will I have to pull this entire oven away from the wall? I unscrewed the sensor in the oven but can't pull it all the way out.
I noticed some instructions that come with the part... can anyone tell me what to expect in replacing the sensor? Pulling the oven will be a -major- pain as it's built into the cabinets etc. If need to remove oven from the wall might as well get a new one as this oven is > 10 years old. Just trying to plan ahead before ordering the part. Thanks!

Here's a diagram of your model showing the sensor. You may be able to get to the plug by going through the top. If not it looks like the back is it.Maytag Appliance 5898VRV Parts List
