Post Propane Oven wont work
Brand: Amana
Age: 1 - 4 years

This is a beautiful modern propane stove/oven. It has cook&hold, Clean, keep warm, and timer features on the control panel. The oven worked for a while. I did notice the clock had started making a buzzing noise before all quit. The power to the unit is ok because the oven light come on and the burners light. I have lost all control panel features. Clock and oven controls. I believe that the 12V-120V power inverter with the modified sine wave input has caused damage to the circuit board. I have no way of knowing this. The stove top and oven are electronic light. (NO pilot light.) Is there any way to convert to a pilot light system for the oven? Is there any way I can check if the circuit board is ok? Other suggestions.

Can you please supply your model number?

Check the wiring harness connection to the clock it may be loose.

The wiring harness is not loose. I checked. Like I it had been working fine. After a few attempts to use the oven on the inverter, she said that the oven would not maintain proper temp.

The model # is ALR5715QDW
Serial # is 11081307GG

Thanks for your reply.

To my knowledge there is no way to change the ignitions system on your range.

I am not sure that the inverter would do damage to the clock but if it was not putting out enough voltage on a constant level the clock may not work.

The oven light would still but would not be as bright.

Check the out put voltage of the inverter.

Here is a link to your range model ALR5715QDW.

Thank you for your reply. The voltage is 120. I checked. It looks like I will have to trade down for a standing pilot. The link for the range helped.
