Default Problem with electronic controls/motherboard on range?
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GW395LEPS00
Age: 1 - 4 years

The oven turned on by itself last night. The timer alarm started beeping and could not be turned off. The temperature control for the oven was cylcing rapidly from 350 degrees to 170 repeatedly. None of the other controls on the panel seem to work, including the light. The light funtions normally when the door is open. The only way to stop the oven was to unplug it. Gas burners are working without problem. We think part # 9760013 needs to be replaced, but are not sure. Any suggestions?

Yes the electronic control is faulty and will have to be replaced.

The part number that you have is correct.

Here is a link to your range model GW395LEPS00.

Okay, so we replaced the part, and the incessant beeping has stopped, but we still cannot turn on the oven. The only buttons that we can use are the cancel and the timer. Somehow, our oven came without a wiring diagram.

Check the ribbon cable that goes from the control panel to the clock to make sure that it has a good connection.

Check on the back of the range, on and in the oven drawer for the wiring diagram.
