I am having the same problem & hear conflicting advice. The one thing I know by testing it is the baking element has a short in it I also had half inch section flowing bright red and a section of the element was charred. I have got the new element and intend on replacing that tonight. I also know that something in the controls was damaged due to the element shorting out. The question is what: I have been told to replace the timer or the selector switch. This switch apparently is what will actually turn the oven off. I am going to appliance parts store tonight to talk to technician.
