I have a double oven, the top oven heats up continually no matter what temperature I set it to. The other day I tried using the bottom oven, they have separate controls, and the top oven came on also and heated up to over 500 F. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It's very old but I either have to fix it myself or go without!

It sounds like there may be some contacts in the control that have welded themselves together.

You will have to see what parts is causing the problem.

You may have two problems.

One may be the selector switch and the other the top control.

Some of the parts may not be available for this oven any more due to the age.

You will have to call Sears for parts.
