Question Oven won't stay on
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 38FA-6TVW
Age: 5 - 10 years

When the BAKE TEMP buttom is pressed the temp light comes on and the temperature can be set with the set control. The reading then drops back to 100, waiting for the oven temp to reach that level. After a few seconds the lights shuts off as does the oven. The oven was on for those few seconds as can be found by touching the oven heating element. This happens every time one attempts to use the oven. If the above procedure is used to start the oven and the BAKE TEMP buttom is held down, after a few seconds the error code -F7- is displayed, a beeping starts and of course the oven shuts down. Suggestions?

That problem would be your touch pad. If the touch pad is a seperate piece from your clock, replace it. If it is all one piece, the touch pad and clock replace the clock. I do bilieve the touch pad is seperate. That should do it. This is a pretty comon problem. Tom T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE
