the pilot light will stay on but i don't think the gas burner will light cuz i dont think i smell gas not sure already removed the thermocoupler? why cuz dad said maybe hope i am not wrong help me figure this out what should i do is it the thermocoupler or something else? thanks

It is likely a faulty valve.

This is something that should be check by a qualified gas technician.
