Default Oven won't light
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: RGB508PPA4AD
Age: Please select

I've found posts that say this is most likely the safety valve. The last time I was able to get it to light, it lit and went out twice and then lit and stayed lit the third time. I haven't been able to get it to light since. I found the valve for my model number at an online parts place and the description says the valve doesn't open until the igniter has enough voltage going to it. The thing is, this range doesn't plug into anything. I don't want to buy a $100 valve if it's the wrong one for this range.

Thanks
John

ETA-- it's at least 6 years old

does this range have a oven pilot, if it dose it may just be a dirty pilot and you should have a gas tech you at it for you

Yes, it has an oven pilot. When I turn the knob to try to light the oven, the pilot flame gets higher. I'm not getting any gas to the oven burner.
