Default Oven won't heat to set temp.
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 68HK-6TXW
Age: More than 10 years

No error messages.
Set temp. to some value, say 350.
Oven beeps to indicate it reached the set temp.
It indicates 350.
My calibrated temp gage that I put in the oven indicates 290.
It never reaches 350.
It slowly ( one hour) gets to 310 as per my gage.
Oven says 350.
I can't find the sensor to see if it's OK.
Any ideas?

The sensor is in the back left or right corner of the oven.

Here is what it will look like.

Here is a link to your range model 68HK-6TXW.

It is not likely the sensor it is likely the clock control.

You are right. The sensor read 100 ohms and when I heated up it increased
resistance.
You wod'nt happen to have agraph of temp. vs. resistance so I can check its
accuracy?
If it is, and I think it is, the control, (I cannot purchase it because of
the age) would you know where I can get a schmatic circuit diagram so I can
troubleshoot the circuit board and possibly repair it. (I am a retired elec.
engr.)
Also in order to get at the control have to get the top up (or off). How do
I do it? I can't find the mechanism to release the cook top.
Thnk you for your response.

75 degree = 1091 ohms + or - 5

250 degree = 1453 ohms + or - 8

350 degree = 1654 ohms + or - 10

and so on.

If the sensor is increasing in resistance it is fine.

Sorry I don't know of a source for the schematic for the clock.
