Default Oven won't heat
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FGF316ASA
Age: 1 - 4 years

From reading past posts my question isn't anything new. However, I live overseas in Indonesia and don't have the option of having someone come and take a look to help with repairs. I need help diagnosing the problem and knowing what part to order so we get it right the first time.

The oven may or may not ignite in a timely fashion and once it does ignite will go through 1-2 cycles of heating and reigniting once the temperature level has dropped. Then, the oven will not reignite for anything until the oven is cold for several hours.

As with other postings of the same nature the stove top works fine.

We have narrowed it down to the temperature control, the gas valve for the oven, a faulty glow plug, or the pressure regulator.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the oven thermostat contact are not closing to allow power to flow to the igniter and valve.

It may also be the igniter is weak.

Check and see if the igniter glows, if it glows but does not light replace it.

Here is a link to your range model FGF316ASA.

Let me help you, you are on the wrong track. What you need to do is replace the glow coil. It is losing its stength, and can't get the gas valve to open all the time. If you need me, I can be reached on my web site T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE Tom
