Default Oven won't get hot enought on bake
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: SVD48600B
Age: 5 - 10 years

My oven will only get to about 250 degrees during baking and it takes a long time to get to that temperature. Broil seems to work fine and I'm not getting any control code errors.

Should I just replace the baking element? Its only $37, but I wanted to see if there could be any other things I am missing.

Thanks for your help.

You should check the bake element before you replace it.

Remove the element and have is check with an ohm meter.

You should have a reading of 22 ohms.

Here is a link to your range model SVD48600B.

Your bake element should draw about 10 amps, 4.5 kwatt. If not, you have a burnt wire someplace. Your heating element should become red hot when operating. If so
you probably have a bad oven sensor, a probe thats attached to the back of the oven.
