Default Oven Will Not Unlock
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 9113042590
Age: 5 - 10 years

I searched around and couldn't find a solution to my problem. I pressed the clean button on the oven and the oven locked. I pressed cancel a short while later and the oven never unlocked. I thought letting it sit a while would work but it did not. I also disconnected the power for a while and reconnected it. the display constantly blinks lock. Does anyone have any ideas?

The picture I have of your product is terrible, but it could be the door latch solonoid. We have to open the door first, On this model are there any screws on top of the control panel, that you can take off? If so of course kill the power, and see. Some times there are side rail, that go from the bottom up to the bottom of the control panel, and there will be a screw, that will take them off, and then there will be a screw hidden on the side of the control panel, that you take off, and do the same on the other side. Then reach in and push back on the shaft of the solonoid, and open the door. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

I got the door to open by using a coat hanger to move the latch slightly that was locking it closed. I started pulling things apart and the solenoid keeps spinning when power is connected. The display is always flashing lock though and I cannot use the oven. I'm going to let someone else take a look at it.
