Oven will not get gas without first turning the regulator gas valve off and then on Brand: Tappan Model Number: TGF336BHDE Age: 5 - 10 years After turning on the oven on, the igniter switch comes on and glows orange. Before the regulator gas valve will allow the gas to enter the oven I must then turn the regulator gas valve off wait about 10 or 15 minutes and turn it back on again. The oven then will reach its maximum temperature and the thermostat will (as its supposed to) shut everything down.
When the oven temperature has dropped to its minimum the igniter switch comes on and glows orange. To get the gas to come on again I must then turn the regulator gas valve off and wait another 5 or 10 minutes and turn it on again.
This process must will have to be repeated several times when roasting something like a large turkey. I recently purchased a thermostat from you folks and that has not solved the problem. My service technician (who I purchased the first thermostat from 4/23/05) is now saying it could be just a sensor so hopefully I can now obtain your expertise.
Thanks,
