Default Oven will not clean
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JES9800AAW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My 2 year old Jen-Air range will not complete the cleaning cycle. this is the first time I have used the clean function, I've been careful not to mess it up.

Per the manual, I touch "clean" on the pad, the oven locks down and starts to heat, then it displays the message to "remove meat probe," which is not in the oven, and a loud, continous beeping. Nothing is in the oven of course. I touch "cancel" and the message and beeping continue. I then turn the power off for a few minutes and then turn the power back on, message and beeping continue. I then turn off the power for several hours and back on. the oven has now cooled and unlocked, and the message and beeping are gone.

I have repeated trying to use the oven with the same failure.
What is wrong with this oven? Are the sensors defective?

It sounds like there is a problem with the meat probe receptacle.

It is sensing that the meat probe is plugged in.

Here is a link to your range model JES9800AAW.

Sevice man came today and said it was the control panel. He is ordering part, which is under warranty, however the service call and labor is not.
