Default Oven temp not heating passed 250 degrees
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: 30-3989-23/03
Age: More than 10 years

Hi - I'm not sure what's wrong with my oven. Burners work, however the oven doesn't heat to correct temp. If I place temp at 350, it ill only heat to 225. I tried re-calibrating the temp, that didn't work. There also appears to be a clicking sound in the oven when heating. It stops clicking when it thinks it at temp.

Do you know what part(s) need to be replaced, if so how do I go about replacing them?

Should I replace the probe (is that the same thing as a heating element)?

cin

I called Frigidaire - they said I don't have a thermostat - it's the probe that needs to be replaced.

It is more likely to be a weak igniter that is causing the problem.

If the igniter is weak it will not hold the gas valve open so the oven will not get to the temperature that you want.

Here is a link to your range model 30-3989-23-03.
